Trauma Informed Practice for ResearchersÂ

This one day workshop focuses on ways in which researchers can embed trauma informed practice in their work. The day will start by focusing on trauma and the impact this can have on individuals, relationships, organisations and cultures. We will consider how trauma might impact research participation and practical ways in which researchers can work in a more trauma informed way.Â
Trauma Informed Practice for Researchers

This half day (2.5 hour) workshop can be arranged to take place at your organisation. This session will first introduce trauma and trauma-informed practice. Then it will use a cue card based reflective activity to prompt researchers to consider their own research projects and how these could be more trauma informed.Â

Digital Storytelling in Sport, Exercise, and Health
(full day course)

This one day workshop aims to equip researchers will the skills needed to use digital storytelling in their own research practice. The workshop starts by providing academic context and examples of digital storytelling work in sport, exercise, and health. Next participants will take part in the stages of digital storytelling to create their own digital story. At each stage we will explain the process, provide practical experience, and critical reflection. The workshop ends by considering how didgital stories might be analysed and how these can be used to create impact.Â

Interviewing in Practice
(Online only)Â
Five week online small group course which aims to provide support and critical discussion for anyone using interviews to collect data. Each week will take a different focus and topics of discussion will include:

- Different forms of interview
- Building rapport and trust
- Asking 'good' questions
- Trauma informed interviewing
- Ethics of interviewingÂ
- Power relations
- Researcher identity
​
Each course will run with no more than 10 participants.Â
